Peter Wigley – Chief Financial Officer and Co-Founder
ContentKeeper Technologies
Peter Wigley was born in Canberra in 1957. He attended Ainslie Primary and Campbell High Schools and went on to study part time at the Australian National University whilst developing his career in the Australian (Federal) Public Service. In 1985 he graduated from the ANU with a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
In January 1991 Peter left the public service to join his brother, David Wigley, in establishing Open Systems Pty Ltd. This company (now known as Open Systems Australia) has grown to become a significant player in the import and distribution of specialised IT hardware and software across Australia.
In 1997 Peter Wigley, David Wigley and Mark Riley founded ContentKeeper Technologies Pty Ltd because of a complete frustration with the Web Filtering products then available, which were heavily over priced, ineffective, and very poorly designed. The first commercial product to be released was ContentKeeper Web, which was launched at CeBIT Hanover in Germany in 2002. The innovative design of CK-Web, in particular the Closed Loop Collaborative Filtering process and the rapid pace of development led to the product winning the Best Internet Filtering product in the Secure Computing Magazine Readers Trust Awards in 2004.
Since that launch, ContentKeeper Technologies has grown to become one of the leading suppliers of Web content management products in the world with installations in over 56 countries. Peter has played a vital role in the success of ContentKeeper Technologies, working as the Chief Financial Officer, cook and bottle washer, and sitting as a member of the board. His time is divided between work and family, and a little time on the side for Underwater Hockey, bike riding and bushwalking.
